Changing your Shopify theme? Don't worry—your Prime Product Badges & Stickers configuration remains safely stored in the app. However, any theme-specific integration settings will need to be reapplied to your new theme.
Before You Begin
Before switching themes, we recommend the following:
- Keep the Prime Product Badges & Stickers app installed. Your badges, display rules, and settings remain saved in the app.
- Duplicate your current theme before making any changes so you have a backup if needed.
- Preview your new theme before publishing to ensure it meets your requirements.
What Happens When You Switch Themes?
When you publish a new Shopify theme:
- Your badges remain saved in the Prime app.
- Your display conditions, schedules, badge groups, and designs are preserved.
- Badge integration does not automatically transfer to the new theme.
This is because App Blocks and integration code are stored inside your Shopify theme—not inside the app.
1. Re-add the badge integration/App Block:
- Online Store 2.0 Themes: Re-add the Prime Badges App Block to your new theme and position it where you want the badges to appear.
- Manual Integration: Re-add the Prime integration code to your new theme by following the integration guide. If you're using Badge Groups, remember to add the integration code for each badge group location.
2. Reconnect Prime to Your New Theme
After publishing your new Shopify theme:
- Open Shopify Admin.
- Launch Prime Product Badges & Stickers.
- Navigate to Account.
- Select your newly Published Theme from the theme selector.
- Click Save.
- Turn the Master Switch Off and then On again to refresh the integration.
That's it! Prime will reconnect to your new theme, and your badges will start displaying again.
Why Is This Required?
Prime stores all of your badge configurations—including designs, display rules, schedules, and badge groups—within the app.
However, the connection between the app and your storefront is theme-specific. When you switch themes, Shopify requires the integration to be re-enabled for the newly published theme.
