Choosing Your Fulfillment Workflow

Shipr offers two fulfillment workflows that determine when Shopify marks an order as fulfilled and when customers receive shipping notifications.

Recommended: Deferred Workflow for clearer order tracking in Shopify.

Immediate Workflow (Default)

The order is marked as Fulfilled as soon as Shipr successfully creates the fulfillment request in Amazon FBA.

When Amazon ships the order, Shipr updates the tracking information and customers receive their shipping notification.

Best for:

  • Merchants who want orders marked as fulfilled immediately.
  • A workflow similar to Shopify's native Amazon integration.

Deferred Workflow Recommended

The order remains Unfulfilled until Amazon actually ships it.

Once Amazon ships the order, Shipr updates the fulfillment status, syncs the tracking information, and Shopify sends the shipping notification.

Best for:

  • Easily identifying orders that haven't shipped yet.
  • More accurate fulfillment status in Shopify.
  • Better order management for growing stores.

Our Recommendation

We recommend using Deferred Workflow because it keeps orders Unfulfilled until they are actually shipped, making it much easier to track pending and fulfilled orders in your Shopify Admin.
