Yes. Watchlyst – Price Alerts will continue to send price drop notifications as long as you edit an existing product variant instead of creating a new one.
The app tracks subscriptions using Shopify's internal variant ID, which remains the same when you update most product details.
✅ Changes That Preserve Existing Alerts
You can safely update the following information without affecting existing price alert subscriptions:
- 📝 Product title
- 💷 Product price
- 📄 Product description
- 🏷️ SKU
- ✏️ Other editable variant details that do not create a new variant
Since the variant ID remains unchanged, Watchlyst will continue monitoring the variant and notify subscribed customers when their target price is reached.
